Chandler Loop System ® DE | EN
The chandler loop system enables simulation of extracorporal blood circulation (ECC). Polymer tubes, partly filled with blood, are formed into re-closable loops and are rotated with a rotation speed between 10-40 RPM in a temperature controlled environment, to simulate arterial flow conditions. This device offers an experimental platform for testing interactions of blood with artificial materials and surfaces, their biocompatibility or, to be precise, hemocompatibility and hemorheological effects. ISO 10993-4 gives detailed information about the co-related testing standards.
The ready to use system, described on the following pages, enables testing and research with the chandler-loop model in a very efficient way. The components are designed to simplify experimental procedures, to minimise sources of measuring error and to deliver reproducible results.
Main areas of application: Hemocompatibility testing and thrombi reproduction
